Good Samaritan Quilt Plaza: Agnes M. Blakey

Good Samaritan Quilt Plaza, Baltimore, MD. Image courtesy of Lutheran World Relief.

In front of Lutheran World Relief's Baltimore headquarters is a pattern of colored bricks that represent the distribution of millions of quilts and kits to victims of war or natural disasters. A quilt was made in honor of all the contributions my grandmother, Agnes M. Blakey, had given to my mother's quilting group at Zion Lutheran Church in Iowa City. It was raffled and earned $571.00. Any gift to Lutheran World Relief over $500 gets an engraved block in the plaza in front of the building. Below is a picture of the block in honor of Agnes M. Blakey.
